ANA ECCLES

Ana has been practicing yoga consistently since 1999 and brings over two decades of experience to her teaching. She earned her 200-hour certification through City Lee’s NYC-based OM Yoga in 2003 and completed her 500-hour certification with Patrick Creelman’s Hong Kong based Wild Lotus in 2019. Along the way, Ana had the privilege of learning from renowned teachers like David Life, Dana Flynn, Jason Crandell and Erich Schiffmann. Her exposure to these influences - and the traditions of Ashtanga Yoga and BKS Iyenger shaped a practice and teaching style that combines focus, precision and flow.

While Ana enjoys exploring vigorous practices and challenging postures, she believes the true magic of yoga lies in its foundations. Her classes emphasize accessible poses, and the use of props - like blankets, blocks and steps to encourage curiosity, playfulness, and confidence on and off the mat.

Ana’s teaching is guided by a few core beliefs:

~There is a yoga practice for everybody.

~Anything can be yoga, but yoga is not just anything.

~An Asana practice is both all about the pose and not about the pose at all.

Whether you’re brand new to yoga or depending your practice, Ana creates a welcoming space for students to explore, grow, and connect with themselves in meaningful ways.
